One Fifteenth's story

One Fifteenth Coffee opened in June 2012 as one of the first specialty coffee shops in Jakarta. The initial goal was to serve great coffee in a place that promoted friendships and collaboration with the community. Shortly after opening, the family-run shop partnered with Morph Coffee Roasters and began roasting its own beans. Within the first year, its head barista won first place at the Indonesian Barista Championship and became the first Indonesian representative to compete in the World Barista Championships. The name comes from 1:15, a well-known coffee-to-water ratio that yields an ideal cup, reflecting their belief that craft arises from repetition of a known skill-set and that consistency stems from time-tested methods of extraction. They focus on sourcing quality beans, respecting and showcasing the specific characteristics of each batch, and highlighting coffee from local cooperatives and different regions around the world.
