A ten-minute walk from Daitoku-ji temple, Fuglen Kyoto is a small coffee stand situated on Kitayama Dori in the tranquil residential neighbourhood called Shichiku. Away from the bustling city centre, it’s a cosy area with a sense of neighbourhood where the time flows at Kyoto pace. Here, we took over the former site of a local Japanese confectionery shop that had a small factory in the back. The coffee bar has a small table seating and bar counters complete with outdoor benches. We are open from 7am to 6pm everyday, serving coffee, tea and pastries, as well as a small selection of beer and wine.
